MY ROLE
VISUAL DESIGNER

Background.

This poster was created as part of an assignment to design an A-Z poster on a modular grid. The theme, Valorant, was chosen for its rich visual content and distinctive style, providing ample material for a complete A-Z list.

Objectives.

• Create a visually appealing alphabet poster.
• Utilize the modular grid for effective layout and design.
• Incorporate elements from Valorant to represent each letter uniquely.

Concept Development.

A-Z List Development

Several initial ideas were considered that included themes like DC Supervillains, but Valorant was selected for its depth and visual richness.
I created an A-Z list containing 100+ words from the Valorant universe.

Modules and Grid

A Tabloid (17" x 11") size layout was divided into an 8 x 5 grid structure to accommodate all the 26 alphabet modules.

Typography

The typeface, Monument Extended, is crafted to be both powerful and versatile, ideal for bold editorial statements, striking graphic prints, or robust logos. Its design aims to make your work stand out and be unique. I believe this typeface is bold, powerful, and modern, making it a perfect match for the Valorant theme. The video game, known for its action, thrill, and technological edge, is well complemented by the typeface’s bold and expansive characteristics.

For the poster title, I utilized "Valorant" by Bryan T, an open-source typeface known for its dynamic and versatile design that perfectly captures and reflects the Valorant aesthetic.
